Image recognition helps online advertisers

Newcastle Science City (NSC) has announced the launch of, Adtronik, a new online advertising tool that uses image recognition.

The tool is designed to monetise online images by placing adverts next to pictures about a similar topic therefore creating more qualified click through rates for advertisers.

Newcastle Science City, a public funded regional development organisation, says the tool filters out inappropriate images such as logos and banners.

Pardeep Raman, Adtronik founder and innovation manager at NSC said, “Image recognition technology has been years in development, and only now are we beginning to see the true business potential. Through a number of exciting partnerships and additions to the management team, I am looking forward to taking Adtronik onwards and upwards towards significant commercial success.”
