Informatica appoints Boorman to global marketing role

Informatica has appointed Chris Boorman as its new chief marketing officer and senior vice president.

Boorman will head up the data integration company’s global marketing strategy, bringing with him 20 years of international marketing leadership experience gained at various enterprise software category leaders including SDL, Salesforce.com, Veritas and Oracle.

“Chris is an accomplished executive with marketing experience at high-growth category-leading organisations,” says Sohaib Abbasi, chairman and CEO of Informatica.  “We will gain from Chris’ exceptional marketing skills and unique international experience as we continue to establish Informatica as the worldwide leader in the enterprise data integration market.”

As CMO for software specialists SDL, Boorman played a key role in two strategic acquisitions and implemented initiatives to drive higher productivity across various marketing functions. Prior to SDL, he served as vice president for EMEA marketing at customer relationship management providers Salesforce.com and before that, led EMEA marketing at the leading enterprise software vendor, Veritas. Over his 10-year tenure at Oracle, Boorman held various positions in consulting, pre-sales support and product marketing.
