Instagram set for rapid marketing growth

Instagram will experience considerable growth in the US social media marketing sector, according to a recent eMarketer study.

While Facebook and Twitter remain the most popular social networks for US businesses, nearly half (48.8 per cent) of marketers are expected be employing Instagram as a marketing tool in 2016, up from 11.5 per cent in 2013.

In a broader sense, 89.9 per cent of US marketers with over 100 employees will use social media for marketing purposes by the end of next year.

Interestingly – by 2017 – Instagram is projected to overtake Twitter in terms of usage for marketing purposes, with 71 per cent of marketers employing the platform versus 67 per cent for Twitter.
