Instagram announced that its audience has surpassed 500 million users.
What’s more, the company emphasized that more than 300 million of those members use Instagram every day.
Earlier this year, eMarketer predicted that Instagram would grow far more quickly than any other major social media platform, constituting more than half of all social network users by 2017. This year, 89.4 million Americans will use Instagram at least once each month, representing 34.1 percent of mobile phone users, according to the research firm.
However, international users drive most of the social app’s growth.
“Our community also continues to become even more global, with more than 80 percent living outside of the United States,” said Instagram in a blog post.
