Job vacancies in UK marketing on the rise

The number of marketing vacancies advertised across the UK has risen considerably since last year, according to research from Robert Walters.

The UK has experienced a 59 per cent year-on-year rise in marketing vacancies during the third quarter of 2015.

The North West has enjoyed the most significant increase, with vacancies up 61 per cent, while there was a 41 per cent rise in the Midlands and 36 per cent growth in London and the South East.

Oli Templeton, marketing recruitment manager at Robert Walter, said: “With the UK enjoying a growth period, firms are looking to win new business both at home and abroad, triggering this demand for marketing staff.”

“We have seen employers looking to expand marketing teams across financial services and B2B, with a particular emphasis on campaign and development teams. Marketers with a blend of traditional and social media skills have been in particularly high demand.”
