JustGiving launches fundraising platform for businesses

Online fundraising platform, JustGiving has announced the launch of a tool aimed at businesses to maximise the money employees raise.

Company Fundraising, due to launch on 12 October, allows UK businesses to create a fully branded fundraising profile to showcase their employees achievements. As well as allowing employees to join and be visible on the company page, the new platform also allows people to join teams and fundraise in groups.

The tool includes no upfront cost, however, JustGiving takes five per cent of money raised or offers the businesses involved the option pay that fee allowing charities to collect all money raised.

Company Fundraising is being billed as helping businesses with their CSR as well as aiding employee engagement. Paulette Cohen, associate director, global community investment at Barclays said, “If people are supported in their fundraising, it’s valuable for staff retention. It’s important for employees to see they are supported.”

Barclays were among a handful of partners who trialled the platform in its three month Beta. JustGiving doesn’t have any campaign activity planned this year, it’s currently using word of mouth marketing to enlist new partners. While Company Fundraising is billed as a self service solution, Just Giving is focusing on enlisting large corporates to use the platform. 2012 will see it push the platform out to SMEs.
