LinkedIn adds polling to group discussions

Social networking site for professionals LinkedIn has launched its first application within groups.

New ‘polls’ allow LinkedIn members and group managers to capture insights and feedback from group members in an easy and simple format. Members can vote on polls and provide additional statements, should they wish to elaborate, in the comments area. Any LinkedIn member can participate in polls within open groups.

Creating a poll is simple and works in the same way as setting up a new discussion – any member of the group can create one, once completed they are sent for approval. Group moderators have the ability to restrict the creation of new polls to managers and moderators by customising their group settings.
