Lloyds Banking Group has been rewarded for its support to UK businesses.

Lloyds Bank Wholesale Banking & Markets and Lloyds TSB Commercial have been named ‘Business bank of the year’ for the eighth year running at the Real FD/CBI Excellence Awards.

The banking giant, which was bailed out by the tax payer in 2008, was voted the favourite in a satisfaction survey completed by over 1000 finance directors. The other shortlisted banks for the category were, Barclays, HSBC and RBS/Natwest.

Speaking about the win, Mark Stokes, managing director for mid markets at Lloyds Bank Wholesale Banking & Markets said, “We are committed to helping our business customers to be successful, as this will make the UK economy stronger. Alongside this, we want to be the best bank for businesses, so receiving this recognition demonstrates that we are doing the right thing.”
