Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership‘s ‘Love Northamptonshire’ campaign has attracted 200 inward investment enquires since it launched in July 2013.
The creative campaign incentivised businesses to relocate to the county with the offer of a locate grant of up to £20,000 funded by the Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) with significant backing from the University of Northampton and local brands such as Carlsberg UK, Weetabix, British Gas and Barclaycard.
Companies that are moving into the area following the campaign include electric car company Bluebird Performance Engineering and gluten free baker Incredible Bakery Company.
Designed by local freelancer, Clare Algate Design, the activity included a dedicated website, billboard and online advertising. The work aimed to encourage businesses elsewhere in the UK and overseas to consider moving to the region because of the county’s strong enterprise credentials and collaborative approach to business support.
A section of the campaign specifically targeted London-based businesses with posters at London Underground and main line stations, walking billboards as well as online advertising.
Councillor Jim Harker, county council Leader, said: “This has been a tremendously successful initiative and this emphasises that Northamptonshire has a great deal to offer businesses from a variety of sectors.
“We believe that the county council can play a significant role in using a relatively small amount of public money to attract substantial inward investment.”
