Market Location has launched what is understood to be is the UK’s second largest database or business email addresses. The file is 653,000 strong and complements the B2B data specialist’s file of 2.3 million postal and telephone addresses on its full Data Universe product.
Launch of the email file represents a challenge to Thomson’s market-leading email marketing database, which is currently two million strong and is licensed to various B2B data suppliers. However, access to this file is restricted by Thomson, which retains control of email broadcast to this audience via its inhouse system. By contrast, Market Location’s data can be accessed through third party email marketing service providers, in the same manner as its postal data. It is available for both rental and lease at £150 and £250 per thousand names respectively.
The file is split 70/30 between personal and generic addresses. It can be segmented by geography, business type, number of employees, job function.
Nigel Bennett, sales director at Market Location, comments, âEmail is becoming increasingly important to B2B marketers and our file was developed in response to this demand. Our email file gives real flexibility as we hand over the addresses to customers to allow them to conduct their own campaigns inhouse. We will be using seeds to monitor how the file is used and to ensure that integrity of our database is maintained.â
