Marketers ‘most romantic professionals’ on Valentine’s Day

Marketing and sales has been crowned the most romantic profession, with 75% set to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

Online marketplace OnBuy.com surveyed over 2000 British professionals to see who is going to be the most romantic on Valentine’s Day. The survey found those working in marketing and sales (75%) will mark the day by doing something special with their partner, giveing them the title of most romantic office profession.

HR employees come in a close second as 69% will be enjoying the day with their sweetheart, while 62% of those in media and PR roles will be celebrating.

IT workers least likely to celebrate their sweethearts

By contrast, those working in IT are least likely to make a big deal of the day, with only 36% revelling in the occasion. Those in finance and accounting are set to step-away from crunching numbers with 44% spoiling their partner for Valentine’s Day.

Some 30% of British workers have booked 14 February off as annual leave, while 42% of those coming into the office want to send a combination of a card and flowers or chocolates to their other half’s place of work.

Some 23% of workplaces will be arranging Valentine’s Day activities such as decorating the office or having a love-themed fancy dress party. Whether they celebrate themselves or not, 34% of office workers are aiming to give some or all of their co-worker’s Valentine’s Day cards.
