Mastercard to review its B2B marketing plans

Financial services firm Mastercard is planning a review of its B2B marketing account in an attempt to improve the way it promotes itself to companies.

Mastercard is apparently keen to streamline its marketing strategy and appoint a single agency to oversee its advertising activity globally.

Mastercard currently use a number of different agencies focusing on various aspects of its B2B products and services.

In 2008 Mastercard spent over $1 billion (£610 million) on advertising and marketing across all its businesses.

Mastercard’s B2B marketing push could see other credit card companies ramping up their own B2B marketing efforts.

Mastercard is reported to have said that the purpose of its review is to “ensure we have the most effective and efficient approach based on current and future business needs and opportunities.”
