Meltwater acquires JitterJam

Social media and news monitoring company Meltwater Group has announced the acquisition of social CRM software provider JitterJam.

The acquisition came as part of Meltwater’s strategy to expand its social media capabilities and will enable the company to expand its portfolio of products and services.

Thanks to JitterJam’s expertise in email, social media and mobile engagement, Meltware aims to provide marcomms professionals with a comprehensive set of tools for tracking and engaging with customers on social channels ‘to transform conversations into lasting relationships’.

Commenting on the news, Jorn Lyseggen, CEO and founder of Meltwater Group, said, “The social CRM space is clearly experiencing fast growth and within three years we aim to generate $100 million a year in social CRM solutions alone. The JitterJam technology and talent will help us achieve this goal.”

In addition to JitterJam, Meltwater acquired BuzzGain last year and intends to acquire more businesses and technologies to help the company further expand its product suite.
