Mercedes van secures facebook success

The Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport van is bucking the trend for unsuccessful B2B Facebook brand pages by having its Facebook page ranked in the top 10 of UK brands by social media monitoring company SocialBakers.

The Vito Sport page had a response rate of 71 per cent in April 2012 and has almost 19,000 fans. The page is filled with regularly updated content consisting of pictures, competitions and videos.

Mercedes explains that response rate is calculated ‘as the number of page administrator responses made to user-generated wall posts, divided by the total number of user-generated posts.’

Speaking about the ranking, Kevin Ferris, van marketing manager at Mercedes-Benz UK, said, “We are delighted to be ranked so highly for Facebook page response rate in the UK. We work hard to keep our fan-base updated and entertained with exclusive content and make it our mission to be the best van Facebook page in the UK.

“It is very important to us to engage and enter dialogue with our communities and this ranking demonstrates our passion and commitment to social media and interacting with our fans.”
