Mobile focus for new Google features

Google’s belief in mobile being the future of the internet was underlined yesterday, as it released a series of new search features.

The updates have improved functionality for both desktop and mobile search but the desktop updates are largely just new versions of functionality already supported on the company’s Android mobile operating system.

The ability to search using pictures (Google Goggles on Android) and Voice Search have both been added to the desktop experience, while those using search on tablet devices will now enjoy a new look results page. Google’s ‘Instant’ functionality has also seen further roll-out.
