Enterprise mobile app developer, Mubaloo has announced it will be expanding into Germany with new internal changes designed to help the company expand.
The company has appointed Janine Nitz to lead the expansion into Germany while marketing manager, Sarah Weller, has been appointed London MD and Ben Reed, head of iOS, has been appointed head of technology. The changes are part of a wider expansion plan that will help to facilitate an extra 20 jobs between Bristol and London.
This expansion comes after Mubaloo saw an increase in the number of requests coming from organisations operating in Germany. The company first attempted to enter the German market in 2009, but ended up closing its office there due to a lack of demand. Since then, smartphone penetration has risen to 51 per cent in Germany, according to ComScore data.
Mubaloo’s CEO and founder, Mark Mason said: “We made a mistake by opening in Germany in 2009. The market wasn’t ready and we didn’t have someone who understood our business well enough. This time, Janine will be based in our Bristol office for the first few months to allow her to fully understand how we operate and work closely with the project teams and developers. We see the German market as a huge growth opportunity for us. At the moment, we are looking for organic growth though if the right acquisition opportunity came along, it is something that would be strongly considered.”
