New look for Financial News

Financial News, the website for the European securities industry published by Dow Jones & Company, has unveiled a redesigned and expanded website.

Financial News now includes a blog, new data tools and features and also has a second set of links taking users deeper into the content, including special reports and in-depth features; a comprehensive press digest and a revamped comment page.

A specially created Topics pages enable subscribers to tailor pages with the stories that matter most to them.

The launch of the new site will be supported by a multi-media advertising and marketing campaign starting early next month.  Activity will include sampling and outdoor advertising at key City and commuter points in London; as well as a newly-created print and online campaign which will run across a range of pan-European titles.

“From regulation to changes in pay structure to the need to rebuild reputations, our readers’ requirements for trusted, accurate and timely news and information has never been greater,” said Phillipa Leighton-Jones, online editor, Financial News.

“The changes we’ve unveiled today have created a site that’s richer, deeper and more flexible. But what hasn’t changed is our insight, expertise and accuracy, our commitment to breaking news, telling our readers why a story’s important and how it matters to them.”

In addition to the new blog, all Financial News’ coverage of people, personalities, jobs and pay will be featured on a new ‘People’ page, which will help users keep track of who’s moving where and why.

Financial News said advertisers will benefit from increased impact for their campaigns on the redesigned site, with two prominent advertising slots placed above the fold.

New targeting opportunities for advertisers will be rolled out soon, including behavioural targeting and packages across the Financial News Web site and The Wall Street Journal Digital Network.

The Financial News Web site is part of the Dow Jones-owned Wall Street Journal Digital Network, which also includes WSJ.com, Barrons.com, MarketWatch.com, and AllThingsD.com.
