Nokia has launched a global crowdsourcing campaign to find an updated version of its iconic ringtone.
The phone manufacturer is challenging entrants, many of whom will be professional musicians, to create a fresh tune that remains ‘distinctly Nokia’. The campaign, put together with crowdsourcing company AudioDraft, calls for entrants to upload their tunes to the campaign microsite where the top five most ‘liked’ will qualify as finalists.
A further five finalists will be selected by the jury, including Nokia’s SVP of design, Marko Ahtisaari, who will then go on to select a winner. The winning tune will be available in selected models of the company’s 2012 product.
