Npower has become the official 2018 England World Cup bid sponsor and plans to help other businesses in England’s 12 host cities make savings on their energy usage.
The energy company is hoping to replicate a campaign it ran last during the Ashes. It monitored the impact it had on local SMEs and used the event to highlight savings that could be made by businesses going green.
Npower will visit current and new business customers in the bid host cities and asses their energy use and offer solutions such as a free electricity meter. Nicholas McHugh of npower said, “We want to show SMEs they can be environmentally friendly and save money, the two go hand-in-hand.”
The energy company’s decision to align itself with the 2018 bid is designed to support a marketing campaign to call other businesses to get behind the England 2018 campaign.
Customers are currently being encouraged to visit a new landing page where they are asked to show their support and sign an online petition in favour of holding the famous football event in England
Giuseppe Di Vita managing director of npower retail markets has commissioned a survey regarding business enthusiasm for a 2018 World Cup and found that 82 per cent of companies believe it would be good for business.
