Outdoor advertising has grown in popularity, with the total sector growing by 6.1 per cent in Q4 2014 according to the Outdoor Media Centre (OMC).
The company also revealed the industry saw a total annual revenue in excess of £1 billion.
The annual revenue represents a record for the industry. It marks a three per cent year-on-year growth.
The banking and the technology sector were among the top spending product categories in Q4. Retail also showed significant growth.
The top 10 outdoor advertisers in Q4 2014 were Asda, British Sky Broadcasting, Kentucky Fried Chicken, O2 UK, Sony Mobile, TalkTalk, TSB Bank, Twentieth Century Fox Film Company, Vodafone and Warner Bros.
Mark Craze, chairman of the OMC, commented: “These are great results for the sector. The market is benefiting from the investment in digital, but also the rampant inflation levels in TV. The growth in retail is clearly a result of press advertising losing share which is moving onto digital screens”.
