Oracle to buy Taleo for $1.9 billion

Oracle has further stoked the fire of its ongoing cloud computing battle with SAP by announcing it is to buy recruitment software specialist Taleo for around $1.9 billion.

The news follows SAP’s plan to acquire Taleo competitor SuccessFactor for $3.4 billion, and highlights the money at stake in the cloud.

To date Oracale CEO Larry Ellison has bought more than 70 companies, spending around $40 billion in the process.
