Pay per lead agency sows new seeds

Online pay per lead marketing specialist The Seed is expanding its customer service team and moving to new premises to cope with the growing number of SMEs using its site.

The Staffordshire based company, founded in November 2006, has appointed Kim Edwards to the role of customer services administrator and Liza Fisher as account manager, and taken over a 6000 square feet office block in Burntwood.

Since its launch, it has signed up over 800 small to medium sized companies despite a limited PR and email marketing campaign. The company is based on a model similar to popular networking tool Linked In, which connects like minded professionals, but is aimed at businesses rather than individuals. The pay per lead format means that businesses pay a fee after a lead has been generated, a method which the company argues is more effective than traditional pay up front advertising methods.

Commenting on her new role, Liza says, “I joined TheSeed.com at a very exciting time and am proud to be a part of the company’s growth and on-going success. The Seed has attracted a growing SME customer base in markets as diverse as print, commercial finance and IT and these customers are already seeing new business conversion rates of up to 40 per cent.”

The Seed now has 17 staff members in the UK and two in Poland. It is also looking to hire a new member to its technical team shortly.
