What’s that? You want another social media account to manage?
Pheed is the latest most-hyped social network of the moment. There may well be another one next week but for now it’s all about this creative-led, Silicon Valley-backed start-up.
Though it looks pretty consumer-focused to start off with, you shouldn’t let that get in the way of your interest; there aren’t many social networks that some expert didn’t sign off as being ‘just for B2C’ at some point.
Pheed encourages its users to post creative content (whether audio, writing, video or anything else), and then offers them the option to share their creations for free or to monetise their content, either on a pay-per-view basis or by allowing other users to pay to subscribe to updates.
It’s an interesting model, and one that will surely find support among organisations with committed followers. Aesthetically, it’s pretty decent too.
In truth it is very early days and there are a lot of American pop stars dominating proceedings at the minute. But you never know…
It’s always good to keep an eye on these things even if it’s just for inspiration of new ways to use one of the ten other networks you’re already managing.
