Pinterest generated more referral traffic than Twitter in February, according to Shareaholic’s Monthly Traffic Report.
The picture pinning site was responsible for 1.05 per cent of internet referral traffic, compared to Twitter’s 0.82 per cent.
To give some context, Google organic search was responsible for 48.8 per cent, direct traffic represented 18.2 per cent and Facebook accounted for 6.38 per cent.
Questions still exist about whether the average B2B brand can leverage Pinterest effectively, especially given the demographic that seems to be most drawn to the site.
But, nonetheless, Pinterest now accounts for more referral traffic than Youtube, Twitter, Google Plus and LinkedIn. Such impressive achievements cannot be ignored. A new social media heavyweight has arrived.
