Pinterest launches APIs

Pinterest has launched APIs in order to help businesses showcase popular products and content.

This new tool will allow brands to feature their popular pins on their website or apps. This includes top repins, most recent pins, related pins and most clicked-through pins.

However, the APIs will at first only be available to the social network’s partners, including brands such as Hearst and Nestle.

Jason Costa, developer relations at Pinterest, announced the news on the official Pinterest business blog: ‘You could use these APIs to show popular products on your homepage or to curate your top articles and other content on Pinterest at any given time. The pins will regularly update, so you can always see what’s trending.

‘We want to make sure that we’re always giving pinners a good experience, so we’ll continue to improve our tools available for all developers, like our buttons and widgets.’
