Pinterest teams up with developers to deliver better tools for brands

Pinterest has launched Marketing Developer Partners (MDP) a programme to help businesses optimise and scale their marketing activity on the platform.

The developers will focus on creating new customer tools and services that allow brands to use the network more effectively. This will consist of building more effective and efficient ways for brands to create, schedule and publish pins and boards.

The image-based social network is currently trailing the programme with a group of developer partners who align with the company’s core values. The first official partners include Buffer, Newscred and Tailwind.

Meanwhile, the social media site is also testing its ad interface in the US by working with leading ad platforms to help companies optimise their campaigns and find success on Pinterest.

Jyri Kidwell, head of marketing developer partnerships at Pinterest, said in a blog post: ‘We are excited to work with these Marketing Developer Partners and to support businesses on Pinterest. We also think it’s important that our pinners have the best possible experience on Pinterest and continue to see high quality pins, so we’re going to keep our MDP standards high as the programme expands in the future.’
