Plus posts appear on Google search results

Google has just made a Google Plus account a must-have for brands, as the next wave of its search and social media integration takes place.

It has been reported that recent posts made on a brand’s Google Plus account can now pull through to search engine results pages, effectively meaning the brand can control of a greater percentage of SERP real estate.

Brands that have successfully set up ‘Google Plus Direct Connect’ functionality, which authorises Google Plus accounts to pull through to search pages, will be able to share greater levels of content with users via their Plus accounts.

Additionally, ‘Add to Circles’ buttons will also be appearing.

These developments should be seen as a huge play by Google as it continues its assault on Facebook and Twitter’s domination of the social space.
