Mobile computing provider Psion has launched an online application store for the industrial commercial markets.
The app store allows Psion to advertise its mobile computing solutions and other developers to promote their offerings. The apps will run on industrial/commercial operating systems like Microsoft Windows Embedded (Windows CE 5.0, Windows 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5) on Psion devices.
In conjunction with the launch it also announced its online community, IngenuityWorking.com, has grown to 8000 registered members. IngenuityWorking.com has been live for six months and is designed to offer a place for discussion on how products in the industrial mobile computing market are developed and deployed.
Psion is so happy with the uptake of its online community, its CEO, John Conoley said, “It’s possible that it may almost entirely replace our traditional dotcom web site fairly soon.”
“IngenuityWorking.com is quickly becoming this industry’s most important collaboration centre, development network and business tool.”
