RS Components puts ecommerce first

Electronics distributor RS Components, trading brand of Electrocomponents, has relaunched its website with a greater focus on ecommerce.

The new site is designed to enhance the online experience for RS Components’ customers. The advanced search algorithm delivers more relevant content and allows customers to tailor their results.

Other new features include clearer pricing, instant stock availability and product comparison.
Ecommerce is a major business issue for RS Components. Over 53 per cent of the group’s revenues are being generated via online channels.

Keith Reville, general manager of ecommerce, Electrocomponents said, “Our customers told us that they wanted better search capabilities with minimum fuss. We want to go beyond that requirement and transform their entire online experience with us.”

Ecommerce is becoming a prevalent issue for many B2B marketers as it is seen as a key way of demonstrating customer centricity. Research from IMRG and eDigitalResearch show approximately 1.5 million people will be working within the ecommerce industry within the next four years.
