Rufus Leonard uses Minority Report theme to launch eNavigator

Branding and digital firm Rufus Leonard has created a digital navigation solution for the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office.

The Admiralty e-Navigator was launched at the ECDIS Conference in Singapore and will host the UKHO’s digital catalogue, product viewer and passage planning tool.

The navigation tool is designed to organize, update and bring together all the paper and digital information needed to plan safe voyages and simplify essential tasks.

Mike Robinson, chief executive of the UKHO said, “Maritime navigation is undergoing a fundamental shift, from paper to digital, from protective to proactive navigation. It is moving towards the International Maritime Organizations vision of e-Navigation”.

Rufus Leonard devised a digital strategy for the launch of e-Navigator that included a campaign theme based on ‘Minority Report’ that ran throughout the on and offline collateral; the website, the stand, the event stimulus and the printed items.

For the launch event Rufus Leonard developed a touch screen interactive demonstrator that Mike Robinson, CEO of UKHO used to present the capabilities of the product to a crowd of over 200 customers, partners and press.

The demonstrator was accompanied by a kiosk version for attendees at the stand at Marintec that allowed them to explore these features for themselves as well as a short film on demonstrating the e-navigator.

The agency also designed and produced printed collateral for the launch event, an updated web design, and a personalised photo montage.
