Salmond launches Scottish bid for inward investment

Scottish Development International has launched a new campaign aiming to attract business north of the border.

Alex Salmond, Scottish First Minister, also addressed directly the bosses of 200 of the UK’s biggest businesses at the annual Institute of Directors convention in London yesterday.

The campaign is aimed at major UK companies without operations in Scotland and is highlighting the cost saving potentials offered by a move to the north.

Anne MacColl, chief executive of Scottish Development International, said, “This campaign is part of a global drive to attract new investment to Scotland.

“There has been a significant level of inward investment success over the last 12 months and SDI is building on this with a continued focus on securing new, sustainable jobs and opportunities.”
