Your mission would be to provide those marketers with fresh, fundamental content that educates them about their role, allowing them to overcome their professional challenges and barriers.

This is a full time, long-term role covering the Head of Content during maternity leave with the opportunity to stay in the role (or an evolution of it) following that period.

You will be overseeing the department’s full content production, delivering that content in line with the existing strategic plan, but moving towards taking ownership of idea generation and planning.

You will be managing a team of 2-3 full time employees, plus regular freelancers.

Departmental content outputs include:

  • A quarterly print magazine
  • A series of high-value annual guides
  • Weekly digital articles to support our community’s interests and our company offerings (chiefly conferences, consultancy and membership)
  • Lead-generating best practice guides, produced both for ourselves and our clients
  • Daily news and blogs

The role

B2B Marketing is on the lookout for an ambitious, creative and professional Editor to manage our team of writers.

Aside from independently managing your own projects to an excellent standard, you will be managing the output of the wider content team in line with the existing strategic plan.

You will be tasked with delivering our esteemed quarterly print magazine, monthly digital best practice guides for marketers, and the production of some our most commercially successful content products.

The right candidate will have proven experience in managing a team, complex project management, overseeing client projects and working to tight deadlines.

We are looking for someone with leadership skills and proven abilities in curating and writing powerful content. The right candidate will be self-motivated, organised and disciplined, yet fits well within our friendly, relaxed and fun office environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver the department’s content plan provided to you, ensuring successful implementation
  • Manage and support the team of content writers, plus social media manager, driving their professional development
  • Lead the quarterly print magazine and key commercial guides, such as our Agency Benchmark Report. This will include setting commissions, project managing and editing.
  • Write digital best practice guides for marketers on a range of industry topics, used to generate leads and provide sponsorship opportunities.
  • Chair roundtable discussions with our clients and customers on core marketing topics.
  • Provide strong creative and commercial content ideas to support the growth of the business.
  • Regularly attend and report on events, conferences and client/ PR meetings.
  • Foster strong relationships with key influencers in the B2B marketing sphere, including clients.Personal attributes

Please note: For this post we will only be accepting candidates with at least five years’ experience in content writing and production and those who have proven experience of managing large content products. Candidates should be educated to degree standard. Previous experience in B2B marketing is preferred, though not essential.
