Shell has partnered with social intranet provider Twine from Browser London to launch a social intranet platform with the aim of fostering innovation by connecting teams across 72 countries.
The highly social interface can be accessed across multiple devices. Shell hopes the new platform will encourage teams to share ideas and engage with social collaboration tools, including an instant messenger, customisable profiling and polling feature where popular ideas will be taken forward for funding.
Jennifer Gearhart-Tang, global innovation and research manager at Shell, commented: “Twine has given us a platform that allows students globally to communicate, collaborate and share ideas. This has been important in helping like-minded innovators to collaborate and discuss ideas that can potentially change the world, through our global competition.”
