SMBs to invest in affiliate marketing

‘Investing in affiliate marketing’ is one of the top priorities for UK small-medium sized businesses (SMBs) in 2014, according to new research by Paid On Results.

The report revealed 91 per cent of the 975 SME owners surveyed said they had ideas in mind for the growth of their business in 2014.

Some 31 per cent of these SME leaders said ‘diversifying product/service offering’ was their top priotiy to aid growth in 2014. This was followed by ‘expanding to international territories’ (28 per cent). While 22 per cent said ‘investing in affiliate marketing’.

Meanwhile, only eight per cent of SMEs plan to ‘cut outgoing costs’ to spur on growth and just four per cent would ‘consider a merger’.

Graeme Sandwell, managing director of Paid On Results, commented on the findings: “As an affiliate network, we’re always keen to hear about the ways in which businesses look to expand. Affiliate marketing is an affordable avenue for many SMEs to go down, yet many have failed to realise this fact and are losing out. It’s so refreshing to see it on that list of priorities for business growth in 2014 and, even though it’s not at number one, it’s a fantastic step in the right direction.”
