Snapchat corporate parent Snap Inc. has announced the global launch of its Snap Publisher tool, meaning advertisers of all sizes can now build vertical mobile ads from directly within the social media app.
Snap Publisher allows brands of all stripes to build their own Snap Ads, choosing from a number of vertical templates that can be further customised with company logos, videos and pictures.
Snap Ads was first launched at Cannes in 2015, but the launch of Snap Publisher will theoretically level the playing field, allowing advertisers of all sizes to conserve time and resource thanks to the tool’s ability to quickly and efficiently create ads in vertical format.
Snap Ads currently sits alongside Snapchat’s other two ad products, Sponsored Lenses and Sponsored Geofilters, all of which can be accessed from within the Snapchat Ad Manager.
Snap Publisher can:
- Convert horizontal video into a Snap Ad
- Enhance videos with design elements such as text, images, and animations
- Generate multiple variations of a Snap Ad
- Provide extensive templates aligned with Snap Ads best practices
- Turn a website into a Snap Ad.
The launch of Snapchat Publisher continues to add weight to Snapchat’s move from a purely consumer-based social media app into a real business tool for brands, with behavioural targeting also a paid social option for marketers.
The social media giant currently boasts over 166 million daily active users, with 10 million of those coming from the UK.
