Snapchat views exceed 7 billion per day

Snapchat is closing the gap on Facebook in regards to daily video views, exceeding seven billion views per day between June and November last year.

This reflects the video app’s continued impressive growth in 2015, with daily views almost tripling to six billion since May last year.

As of November 2015, Facebook was receiving eight billion daily video views, demonstrating an increasingly tight margin between the two social networks.

As of May 2017, Snapchat claims it has more than 166 million daily active users, with 10 million of those coming from the UK.

The social media video giant is still some way behind Google-owned video giant YouTube, which boasts over one billion active users per month.

Currently valued at $16 billion, the five-year-old company could be an untapped source for B2B marketers, especially for targeting millennials, who make up the majority of its user demographic.

In October 2016, Snapchat also announced that 77% of their 10 million daily Snapchatters in the UK were over 18, and of these 43% are parents.

Last year, the rapidly-growing app announced the release of a new behavioural targetting feature, and more recently rolled out a new Snapchat Publisher tool for simplified ad creation.
