Spiceworks hits two million users

Spiceworks, the social media network for IT professionals, has announced its growth to two million users.

The announcement comes a day after Twitter revealed it had surpassed 10 million UK users. Despite being behind the social networking giant, the Spiceworks figures are significant considering its niche, sector specific audience.

The number of users now on Spiceworks represents 30 per cent of all IT professionals in SMEs worldwide. To date, the community has created 168,000 different discussion topics, 1.2 million posts and 9000 technology reviews.

Speaking about the increase in users, Scott Abel, co-founder and CEO of Spiceworks said, “It’s part of the growing influence that social networks like ours have on connecting business buyers with the technology brands they need.”

Spiceworks is holding its first London user conference on 24-25 May.
