Spiceworks updates software to allow for centralised IT services

Software company Spiceworks has announced the beta release of its updated IT management software designed to help managed service providers (MSPs) better service their client networks.

The main new feature, requested by the 150,000 service providers using Spiceworks, is a centralised help desk that allows multiple client service requests to be managed from a single console. The new helpdesk function will also enable MSPs to track and bill for time spent on service tickets more effectively.

The software company is also combining its help desk software with its online community of IT professionals. Spiceworks says the online community allows its users to collaborate with each other and work on cloud-based and on-premise technology.

Lawrie Dalman, IT director of Lawrie Dalman Consulting and Spiceworks user said, “The newest features are specifically designed to make it simple for us to manage multiple client sites from one Spiceworks installation, which will help us to greatly expand our business.”
