Tech brands dominate most valuable list

Technology brands are dominating the seventh annual Brandz Top 100 Most Valuable Brands study.

Apple tops the list with a $182.9 billion valuation, while IBM jumped ahead of Google into second place. Google remains ahead of McDonald’s.

Eileen Campbell, global CEO of brand research company Millward Brown, said, “Brands are an insurance policy for businesses.

“Despite a prolonged period of economic stress, political uncertainty and natural disasters that buffeted brands across many categories, the value of the world’s leading brands keeps rising across many categories, sustaining and nurturing businesses.”
