As the organisers, the B2B Marketing Awards are a huge logistical challenge and consequently are a big focus of our time and resources, from the moment we launch in spring to wrapping things up at the gala dinner in November. So after much reflection and analysis on last year, and planning for how we can do things better, I’m excited that we’re finally now underway again for 2011. We’re now open for registrations, and the countdown to the final deadline for entries is under way – see our timelines page for more on what happens and when.
As I said above, we’re continually looking to improve the B2B Marketing Awards, and each year refine the categories, and entering process, the judging and the gala dinner. A key decision this year has been to make the awards fully international, in response to demands from our audience. This will allow the very best work from the UK and Europe to compete with campaigns and initiatives North America, Asia Pacific and beyond – it should make for a fascinating contest for the judges.
Talking of judges – we’re going to start recruiting client-side marketers to participate in the judging panel soon. If you’d like to be considered for this, please contact us. You would need to give up a day of your time to sit on the panel, and would be invited to the gala dinner as our guest.
There are also a number of new and improved categories, whilst some others have been dropped due to low levels of interest. Of particular interest is our first mobile marketing category, one on content marketing, and a category on customer insight, replacing ‘best use of data’, and designed to accommodate the role of insight and analytics in the broadest sense.
If you have any feedback on the categories, or any other aspect of the awards, please comment below and I’ll do my best to answer any questions. For more on how to enter, click here, and to register, click here.
There will be a free webcast in the next few weeks presented by Peter Young, chairman of the judging panel, on how to put together your entries, including a live Q&A with Peter and myself. If you’ve not entered these awards before, I would recommend that you join live or listen via the on-demand function. In the meantime, don’t forget to register today.
