The Business Growth Fund (BGF), established to help Britain’s SMEs grow, has appointed Jon Rhodes as director of communications and marketing.
As well as managing the marcomms work for the BGF, Rhodes will be offering communications advice to the business’ investee companies. BGF CEO, Stephen Welton, said, “Jon joins the BGF at a crucial time as we are soon to announce our first investments.”
Prior to joining BGF Rhodes built and ran Brunswick’s public affairs practice. Speaking about his new appointment, Rhodes said, “BGF’s success will be built on the close relationships we can build with businesses across the UK, and with the communities of which they are a part. Fast growing businesses need to be properly aware of what is on offer and how the BGF can help them fulfill their potential. First class communications lies at the heart of this process.”
The BGF will invest between £2m and £10m per business in return for a minimum 10 per cent equity stake and a seat on the board for BGF director.
