Google remains top of LinkedIn’s third annual InDemand ranking, a list of the most attractive employers to the social networks 17 million UK members.
John Lewis came in second place, climbing three places since 2013, followed by Apple and BP, both dropping one place since last year. In fifth place is the BBC which climbed two spots.
Twelve brands with a B2B offering feature in the top 20, including Microsoft (7th), BAE Systems (15th) and British Airways (20th).
For B2B marketers this list is a stark reminder of the growing importance of good company culture and employee benefits for attracting and keeping talent. Marketing teams need to ensure both employees and potential candidates are aware of what their company can offer them.
Pierre Berlin, senior director of LinkedIn Talent Solutions EMEA, commented on the findings: “The latest InDemand rankings feature a good deal of movement, with interest in the retail and construction and engineering industries in particular on the up. The competition for UK talent, both domestically and overseas, has never been fiercer, and it is no surprise that those brands investing in their employer brand are reaping the rewards.”
