Top 50 most socially influential brands revealed

The top 50 most socially influential brands have been announced, with Amazon topping the list with a Klout score of 98.86, Lithium Technologies revealed.

Microsoft came in a close second with a score of 98.85. The next B2B brand on the list was Google (98.04), followed by Facebook (97.94) and Intel (95.94).

This means four out of the top five socially influential brands have B2B arms of the business.

Other B2B brands that feature include GE in 16th place with a score of 91.37, Adobe comes 22nd with a score of 89.90 and Oracle in 35th place and score of 87.14.

These Klout Scores are compiled using proprietary algorithms, determined by more than 400 signals from eight different networks, including Facebook, Twitter and Google+ as well as real world data from Bing search and Wikipedia.

The brands that have made the list are the most active on social media with their followers consistently sharing and interacting with their digital content.

Katy Keim, CMO of Lithium Technologies, said: “The Klout 50 salutes those brands that know social is part of their consumer’s everyday life and for effectively connecting and sharing experiences with them. However, this is also a wakeup call for the brands that are not on the list to understand that without social they lose.”
