Twitter has followed in the footsteps of Facebook and Google Plus, offering brands the opportunity to create their own bespoke Twitter profile pages.
A blog on Twitter’s website explained that the development is designed to allow marketers to ‘create an even more compelling destination on Twitter for their brands.’
It is probably also designed as a direct response to the brand-focused developments Facebook and Google Plus have been rolling out in recent months too.
Among the developments, Twitter profiles can now boast a larger header image for logos, taglines and other visual promotion.
It is also now possible to control the message visitors to pages first see when they arrive on your page, with auto-expanded promoted Tweets.
The new pages have rolled out with a series of specially selected partners, including B2B brands such as @AmericanExpress and @Dell.
The new pages will be available to other brands over the coming months.
