Twitter reaches maturity and conquer the most active Internet users

By 2018 the number of teens who use Twitter will equal the users between 35 and 44. Twitter is a social networking that is taking to the masses. Its use has been consolidated and extends beyond the younger population or geeks. According to eMarketer, this year the social network rose from 43.2 to 48,200,000 users in the U.S. alone.

EMarketer also shows that activity in this network will also increase, estimating that over 25% of Internet users between 12 and 44 years will be using the micro blogging platform at least once a month. The population segment most active on Twitter is the Millennial, young people between 18 and 34, who represent 63.6 % of the total population of Twitter.

 It should be noted the presence of users between 25 and 34 whose representation will double this year, from 5.5 to 10.4 million users. Proof of good health enjoyed by the social network of the blue bird is that in 2018 the number of teens who use Twitter will be equal to the users between 35 and 44 years, ensuring the renewal of generations and shows that Twitter is maintaining interest during the course of years. Therefore, we can conclude that Twitter is an established and stable social network, which has a loyal base of followers who will be here over time.

Furthermore, these users do not only act on this platform according to their interests, but also interact with advertising on Twitter, whose ads they don’t tend to consider intrusive, unlike what happens in Facebook.

It should also highlight the demographic profile of Twitter users. As this month showed the published report of Marketing Query, the conversation on twitter can vary depending on the groups, and overall tweeters confessed to be addicted to online content and technology. Thus, 81 % admit they consume online videos on their computer. A significantly higher percentage than the average for other social network users (67%). Also, 76 % have Smartphone, 13% more than average, while 54 % is user tablet ( 14%).

As the data shows, Twitter has established itself as an effective platform to attract the most active groups in social networks. An appeal is expected to continue in the coming years.
