Twitter redesigns profiles

Twitter has rolled out redesigned profiles, with the aim of making it easier for users to express themselves.

The redesign, which has been compared to Facebook, includes a larger profile picture, custom header and tools to highlight favourite tweets.

Tweets that receive the highest engagement will appear slightly larger to allow users to easily find the best content quickly.

The social network has also introduced pinned tweets. This allows users to pin tweets to the top of their profile.

Meanwhile, filtered tweets have been introduced. Users can select options from their timeline, including text-only tweets, tweets with photos/videos or tweets with replies.

David Bellona, designer at Twitter, said in a blog post: ‘This new profile setup is available today to a small group of users. If you’re new to Twitter, you’ll start in with the new profile. In the coming weeks, we will roll out the new features to everyone.’
