Twitter rolls out app updates

Twitter has launched a number of updates across its seven different apps: Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac, twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com and TweetDeck.

The improvements mean direct messages (DM) will now sync across all devices and Twitter accounts so that read DMs will be marked read in browsers, desktop apps and mobile devices.

Syncing will be rolled out gradually, and users will need to download the latest version of each app to ensure the updates work on all devices.

Other announcements include improved search results that show expanded user information with a full bio to make account previewing easier and faster. Additionally, swiping the preview to the left shows suggested similar accounts. Twitter has also added a new indicator in search results that shows tweets related to your search, so you keep up on what’s trending.
