Twitter to offer geo-targeted promoted tweets and data

Twitter has announced that it is to launch geo-targeted promoted tweets and a dashboard allowing marketers to access data about their followers.

The announcement was made by Twitter’s president of revenue, Adam Bain, during a speech at the Ad Age Digital conference in New York on April 6. Twitter will be introducing promoted tweets targeting users based on their location. This will help marketers to reach the audience in their right geographic areas.

Bain said the service will be made available in 21 cities across the US as well as in other countries around the world.

During his speech, Bain also introduced a dashboard: named ‘Follower Dashboard’, it is designed to show the trends of brands followers, displaying how they increase over time, break down their gender and location, as well as the interest they have shown towards the brand.
