In an effort to boost Welsh exports, the UK trade minister and Welsh secretary have launched a tour to visit the country’s most successful companies.
Lord Maude and Stephen Crabb’s two-day tour will include visits to financial services firm DTCC in Wrexham and Broughton-based aircraft manufacturer Airbus.
The tour is part of a wider initiative between the Welsh Government and the UK Trade & Investment department (UKTI), aimed at making exports easier for UK businesses.
Last year, more than 5000 new jobs in Wales were created by foreign direct investment.
Lord Maude commented: “It has been inspiring seeing the enthusiasm for exporting here in Wales, and hearing the success that can be achieved when companies start to expand overseas.
“With exports approaching £3 billion each year in Wales alone, there is clearly demand out there for UK products and services.”
