Veolia Environmental Services is aiming to become a household name through a new approach to marketing, led by newly-appointed agency IAS B2B Marketing.
The waste management company, which services local authorities and businesses, is described by Rob Morrice, MD of IAS as âthe UK waste sector’s best kept secret,â which belies the huge scope and scale of the operation in the domestically and globally.
IAS was appointed in September to handle strategic marketing communications and brand development activity for Veolia. Its brief includes a review of Veolia’s online strategy and internal comms, plus a multi-channel programme of print, research, emarketing, PR, events and sponsorship, designed to reflect its market-leading position in the UK. The first campaign work was also launched in September.
âIt’s our job to make sure Veolia becomes a household name in the UK,â says Morrice. âVeolia is a giant in the industry and is now the agency’s top fee- earning client. It just goes to show, where there’s muck, there’s brass.â
Veolia currently employs 12,500 people in the UK and provides refuge services for 16 million residents. It also employs over 100,000 people globally, generating sales of £6.8 billion in 2007.
